The Inspection Process
An inspection generally takes around 1-4 hours, but this can vary due to the size and complexity of the home or building. Marquis Home Inspections, usually begins on the outside of the property.
We’re looking to ensure the foundation doesn’t have any large vertical cracks or crumbling material, and there should be no evidence of poor drainage.

The exterior trim should be free of serious flaws, and the windows should fit tightly in their frames. The gutters and downspouts should be clean of debris or holes.
We will visually check for loose shingles or tiles on the roof, and make sure chimneys and vents are well-sealed. An inspection of the attic will also be performed to check for leaks.
We will then move inside. We will check heating and cooling, plumbing and electrical. Most issues with these systems are not something that is readily visible, and the average person would have a hard time detecting them, but we aim to save you literally thousands of dollars with this thorough inspection.
We will inspect the kitchen appliances and evaluate the cabinets to make sure all the hinges are secure and the drawers glide smoothly.
Windows, and all exterior doors will be checked, along with the attic to ensure the home or building is energy efficient.
